- MAD Paris (Musée des Arts Décoratifs) – “A Day in the Eighteenth Century: Chronicle of a Parisian Townhouse” February 18 – October 4 This exhibition recreates a Parisian_hôtel particulier_ in the 1780s with over 500 original objects portraying the life of an aristocratic residence and its inhabitants – masters, servants, and household animals — with wood paneling and wallpapers, furniture, ceramics, silverware, clothing and fashion accessories, toys, and jewelry. “In a cinematic, sound-filled and scented atmosphere, the visitors wander from room to room as if they were close acquaintances, friends, or privileged guests of the family.” Open Tue–Sun 11am–6pm, Thursdays and Saturdays until 9pm, Sundays until 8pm, tickets €15 (free under 18). 107 Rue de Rivoli, 1st.
- Fondation Dubuffet –“Pulsions: Jean Dubuffet, the Final Years (1974–1985)” April 16 – October 24 After completing his celebrated Hourloupe cycle in 1974, Jean Dubuffet — then in his seventies — embarked on one of the most prolific decades of his life, producing over 1,500 paintings and 1,000 drawings organized into twenty series. This major retrospective of his late work brings together more than 150 pieces, tracing his restless movement between figuration and abstraction and the freedom of gesture that defined his final creative chapter. Open Mon–Fri 2pm–6pm (closed public holidays and May 15). Special Saturday openings: April 25, June 20, July 18, September 19, and October 24, 2pm–6pm. 137 rue de Sèvres, 15th.
- Musée de la Franc-Maçonnerie – “Lights in the City: Paris and the Freemasons” April 29 – December 20 This exhibition explores three centuries of Freemasonry’s presence in Paris through architecture, art, music, politics, and urban history. Organized at the headquarters of the Grand Orient de France, it traces how Freemasons influenced the cultural and civic life of the capital, from Enlightenment-era lodges and revolutionary ideals to public monuments, gardens, museums, and artistic circles. Manuscripts, artworks, archival documents, and symbolic objects reveal a hidden historical map of Paris shaped by networks of intellectuals, builders, artists, and reformers. Note that only the major texts are in English, descriptions of each work are only in French. Read more about Heather’s visit and see images in the June 2026 Secrets of Paris Members’ Update. Open Tuesday–Friday 10am–12:30pm and 2-6pm; Saturday 10am–1pm and 2pm–7pm; Sunday 10am–12:30pm and 2pm–6pm. Tickets €8; free under 18. 16 rue Cadet, 9th.
- Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris – “Florian Krewer: woven thin*” June 19 – January 4, 2027 This German artist’s first solo exhibition in France features 16 recent large-scale paintings, including several new works. Drawing on personal experience and imagination, Krewer creates dreamlike scenes populated by dancers, performers, animals, and solitary figures, exploring moments of intimacy and resilience within changing urban landscapes. Open Tue–Sun 10am–6pm, free entry (part of the permanent collections). 11 Avenue du Président-Wilson, 16th
- ALSO– “Kerry James Marshall: The Histories”The first French retrospective of an American painter known for monumental compositions centering Black figures within Western art-historical traditions. The show spans seventy works tracing over four decades of his career from his early mature work of the 1980s, like Invisible Man, through canvases addressing the Middle Passage, to monumental scenes of everyday Black life set in barbershops and parks, referencing painters like Manet, Caillebotte, and Seurat. Later sections cover the Civil Rights-inflected Souvenirs series, with imagined portraits of historical Black figures such as Harriet Tubman. It closes with the eight unseen paintings, which explore lesser-known episodes of African history. Marshall paints using a distinctive palette of blended black pigments and does not depict violence directly.
- Musée Gustave Moreau – “Talisman: Carte blanche to Ali Banisadr.” September 9 – December 7 To mark Gustave Moreau’s bicentennial, this museum in the artist’s former atelier and home is launching a contemporary “carte blanche” program that explores the continuing relevance of his symbolic vision through “intergenerational artistic dialogue”. Ali Banisadr is an internationally acclaimed painter whose imaginative, memory-driven works have been exhibited at major museums worldwide, making him a fitting contemporary counterpart to Moreau’s visionary practice. Open Wednesday-Monday 10am-6pm, tickets €8 (free under 18). 14 Rue Catherine de la Rochefoucauld, 9th.
- Musée Jacquemart-André – “Timeless Tintoretto” September 11 – January 24, 2027 This exhibition offers the first comprehensive overview in France of Tintoretto’s career, highlighting the ambition, innovation, and lasting influence of one of the greatest figures of Venetian Mannerism. Bringing together around forty paintings and graphic works, it explores his dramatic compositions, bold perspectives, and dynamic style, while showing how his art shaped generations of painters beyond 16th-century Venice. Open daily 10am–6pm, Friday until 10pm, tickets €19 (€10 for students under 18, free under 7). 158 Boulevard Haussmann, 8th.
- Petit Palais – “Eva Gonzalès: A Free-Spirited Artist” September 15 – January 24, 2027 This exhibition is the first major retrospective devoted to Eva Gonzalès, a painter associated with the Impressionist circle and the only formal student of Édouard Manet. Bringing together nearly one hundred paintings, pastels, and prints, it explores the career of an artist who developed a distinctive style and achieved recognition despite the challenges faced by women artists in the 19th century. Open Tue–Sun 10am–6pm, tickets €14. Avenue Winston Churchill, 8th
- Grand Palais – “Cezanne et Nous” September 23 – January 17, 2027 “An unprecedented exhibition dedicated to Paul Cezanne (1839–1906) and his artistic legacy. From Paul Gauguin to Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Piet Mondrian, Joan Mitchell, Bridget Riley, and Peter Doig, nearly 180 artworks show how his work has been discovered, interpreted, and transformed, from the late 19th century to the present day.” Open Tue–Sun 10am–7:30pm, Friday until 10pm. Tickets €19-24 (free under 18). 17 Avenue du Général-Eisenhower, 8th.

- Cypsèle — Île Saint-Louis, 4th. Marcin Król (ex-Noma, Le Chateaubriand, Maison) with sommelier Quentin Loisel (ex-Jules Verne). Daily-changing menu built on wood smoke and foraged flavors “without performing any of it”; restored 17th-century apothecary shelving, open kitchen. €85 lunch / €145 dinner. This is the one I’d add if you want a third dinner — closest thing to “new Paris at its most interesting” and reviewers are calling it one of the best meals in the city.
- FIEF (Fait Ici En France) — 11th, Victor Mercier, 1 star 2026. 100% French produce, vegan tasting €85, “conscious omnivore” €95, counter-only “Territories” menu €125, pairings €50. Best pure price/quality of the starred group; the knock is inconsistency (a few reports of lukewarm plates).
- Datil — Manon Fleury, vegetable-centered 8-course; went €65 → €95 after its star. Singular and delicate; the obvious pick if anyone in the four is vegetable-leaning, which is exactly where Eskal is weakest.
